City of Andover Kansas is hiring for a position that directly serves the public, contractors and City staff. The role requires deep knowledge of building and zoning permitting, contractor licensing and general administrative services.

The position pays a minimum of $19.26 per hour and pay is based on prior experience. Applications/resumes are reviewed as they come in, and the posting remains open until filled.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some post-secondary courses in building, construction, inspection, or related field preferred.
• Two years’ progressive experience in building trades preferred.
• ICC Permit Technician certification required within 6 months.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical assistance to applicants in completing building and zoning permit applications and explain requirements.
• Review and route applications for full review by appropriate personnel.
• Calculate and provide permit fee estimates.
• Oversee permit applications from submittal to final approval.
• Schedule project inspections.
• Review and evaluate contractor licensing applications.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports (inspections, enforcement).
• Perform other duties as required.
