Job summary

Lee County Government is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager for Facilities Construction & Management in Fort Myers, FL. You will lead major maintenance and CIP projects, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal departments to deliver safer, more resilient county facilities.

Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, and construction oversight, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while mentoring team members and reporting status to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Structural Engineering; Architecture; Interior Design; or a closely related field.
• Two years of relevant professional experience in engineering, architecture, or construction project management.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass an NCIC background check and obtain fingerprint-based security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of MM and CIP projects from concept through construction closeout.
• Coordinate scope, schedules, and budgets for timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Exercise independent judgment and technical expertise to solve project challenges.
• Oversee project documentation including plans, specs, cost estimates, and contracts.
