Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking a Public Involvement Coordinator in the Washington, DC area to support transportation infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

You will develop outreach materials, coordinate public meetings and manage stakeholder engagement to inform project development. The role requires 3–5 years of communications experience, strong writing skills and the ability to translate complex information for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications/Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Urban Planning or a related field.
• 3-5 years of communications or planning experience.
• Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear content for public audiences.
• Strong organizational, time management and creative skills.
• Proven experience writing content for websites, social media, and media notices.
• Ability to travel for meetings and events.
• Candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Commitment to workplace safety and WSP policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop messaging and engagement strategies to educate the public on project purpose and benefits.
• Create news releases, brochures, fact sheets, surveys and media alerts.
• Research and write content for websites, social channels, presentations and talking points.
• Coordinate virtual and in-person public meetings with stakeholders.
• Attend external meetings to provide public involvement updates and identify issues.
• Analyze public feedback and draft responses to inquiries and media requests.
• Implement strategic social media outreach plans across platforms.
• Review stakeholder feedback and summarize results across channels.
• Direct work of design, website development, video and photography support as needed.
• Monitor media coverage of project issues.
• Collaborate with project teams to align communications with client priorities.
