Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a communications-, PR-, marketing-, journalism-, urban planning-related field.
• 3–5 years of communications or planning experience.
• Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Superior organizational, time management and creative skills.
• Proven experience writing content for websites, social media and media notifications.
• Ability to translate complex, technical information into accessible public content.
• High attention to detail; proofreading skills.
• Deadline-driven with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience using social media for outreach campaigns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work effectively in teams and lead tasks.
• Ability to interact with diverse audiences, including senior management.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and events.
• Candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Develop messaging and engagement strategies to educate the community on project purpose, need, benefits and impacts.
• Create news releases, brochures, fact sheets, surveys, media alerts and other collateral.
• Research and write content for websites, social media, presentations and marketing materials.
• Coordinate virtual and in-person public meetings and events with community groups and stakeholders.
• Attend external project and community meetings to provide public involvement updates.
• Analyze public feedback and draft responses to inquiries and issues.
• Implement strategic social media outreach plans across platforms.
• Review stakeholder feedback and summarize results.
• Develop survey questions and analyze results.
• Direct work of design, website, video and photography resources as needed.
• Monitor and elevate media coverage of project issues.
• Collaborate with project teams on communications alignment with client priorities.
• Identify opportunities for community involvement for project teams.
• Build relationships with clients and assist with business development.
• Interact clearly with diverse audiences; perform other duties as assigned.
