Job summary

Maricopa County Downtown Phoenix Justice Courts is seeking a Judicial Clerk to support court operations, handle front-counter service and payments, and assist with filing and docketing. The role emphasizes accurate document handling, timeliness, and professional public interactions in a busy court environment.

You will engage with the public, law enforcement, and attorneys, processing forms and fees while maintaining case files and supporting courtroom staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of clerical or administrative experience including customer service, cash handling, and/or data entry.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is valued.
• High school diploma or GED required; combination of education/experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to the public, law enforcement, and attorneys at the counter and over the phone.
• Review legal documents for information, jurisdiction, timeliness, and completeness.
• Schedule and amend court dockets, coordinate court dates, and issue notices.
• Manage filing and retrieval of documents in the case management system; maintain document order and purge per retention schedules.
• Handle monetary transactions daily and assist in courtroom support when assigned.
