Job summary

Responsibilities include updating the city website, drafting press materials, and leading social media campaigns. A strong background in public relations and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field.
• At least two years of communications experience, preferably in local government.
• Proficiency with social media platforms at scale.
• Strong writing, editing, graphic design, and videography skills.
• Knowledge of public relations, marketing, and community outreach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with digital tools, social media publishing, and website content systems.
• Basic understanding of AI-powered tools and their workflow implications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support city-wide communication initiatives, including public safety messaging.
• Oversee and update the City's website, social media channels, newsletters, and other outreach platforms.
• Write and design press releases, brochures, ads, and community magazine articles.
• Create compelling social media content.
• Liaise between departments, residents, the City Council, and news media.
• Coordinate community outreach events and marketing campaigns.
• Provide input on communication strategies and improvements.
• Inspire citywide staff to engage in proactive communications.
