San Jose Water Company is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist, Visual Storytelling and Community Engagement, to lead field storytelling and coordinate community outreach across SJW facilities, tours, and events.

The role emphasizes developing multimedia content, managing editorial plans, and collaborating with senior leaders to share the company’s infrastructure, water quality, and community impact stories with diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience translating technical topics into accessible content for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to plan and execute community engagement events and tours.
• Strong storytelling across multimedia formats (video, photography, written content).
• Experience coordinating with multiple internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to develop and manage an editorial content calendar.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-based content creation for SJW, including video, photography, and interviews.
• Develop annual and quarterly storytelling plans aligned with company priorities.
• Plan and coordinate facility tours and public/panel presentations with SJW leaders.
• Coordinate community engagement activities, including tours, outreach, and sponsorships.
• Support education programs and materials for ambassadors and community partners.
