Job summary

Alamance County Government seeks a Communications Manager to lead communications, media, and public relations strategies for county government. You will serve as the primary public spokesperson, develop timely information, and coordinate messages across departments and platforms.

The role focuses on crisis communications, digital content management, branding consistency, and community engagement, with responsibilities to inform residents and employees about programs, services, and initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications or public relations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, CMS, social media, and digital communication tools.
• Knowledge of journalism and public relations principles; ability to write and design reports under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications, media, and public relations strategies for Alamance County Government.
• Coordinate communications for public health, emergency management, and county programs.
• Develop campaigns, content across traditional and digital platforms, and run-of-show materials for events.
• Maintain branding standards and ensure accurate, accessible public information.
