Job summary

The City of Frederick is seeking a dynamic arts and culture programs coordinator to support the Office of Arts and Culture’s existing and growing programs. The Coordinator will oversee exhibition and public art initiatives, manage the City’s art collection, and assist with outreach, publications, and events to promote equitable access to arts for residents and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate exhibition and public art installation, deinstallation, maintenance schedules and related logistics.
  • Assist in coordinating and supporting the implementation of key programs such as Art in City Hall, the City’s public art and art collection, and film permitting process.
  • Respond to inquiries from artists, residents, and community partners.
  • Develop exhibition and collection materials, artist information, signage, and promotional content.
  • Maintain program records and calendars, artwork inventories, exhibition documentation, mailing lists and digital resources.
  • Coordinate organization of exhibition receptions and artist recognition events.
  • Represent the Office of Arts & Culture at community events as assigned.
  • Collect and organize program data to support evaluation and reporting.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with other City departments, as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned to support the Office of Arts and Culture goals and projects.
