Job summary

City of Minneapolis is seeking a Program Manager in the Arts & Cultural Affairs Department to coordinate commissions of new public art projects. You will cultivate relationships with stakeholders and City departments to achieve public art goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years in public sector management, with hybrid work options including some remote days and in-office work at the Public Service Building in Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Two years in the public sector performing management duties.
• Equivalency: an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Managing artists and artist selection.
• Coordinating community involvement and input.
• Acting as liaison between artists, designers, engineers and project coordinators.
• Coordinating reviews for structural integrity, ADA compliance, maintenance requirements, etc.
• Coordinating community events and celebrations.
• Negotiating, developing, and managing contracts with artists, fabricators, and consultants.
• Developing promotional materials.
• Working with other departments and agencies.
• Bringing approvals before the Minneapolis Arts Commission.
• Documenting and inventorying project files.
