Job summary

The City of Charleston, Office of Public Art, is seeking a Public Art Coordinator to plan, review, and manage public art projects within Charleston. You will work under the Director of Public Art to implement policies and projects set by leadership.

Main duties include developing inventory and maintenance programs, managing the art database and pursuing grant opportunities, and coordinating installation and maintenance of public art across the city.

Qualifications

• Requires experience in arts administration or public art programs.
• Strong planning, coordination and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills the department's mission to educate, create, conserve Public Art in Charleston.
• Develops and implements inventory plans and maintenance programs for the Office of Public Art.
• Manages the public art database and condition studies.
• Identifies fundraising opportunities and grant opportunities.
• Implements projects and procedures for installation, maintenance and identification of public art in Charleston.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Arts Administration or related field
