Job summary

The Madison Hotel D.C is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to maintain clean public and guest areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, entrances, and other common spaces. You will vacuum, mop, dust, polish, and replenish supplies while upholding safety and sanitation standards. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, entrances, and other common spaces.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize surfaces as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
  • Monitor areas for spills and safety concerns, addressing them promptly.
  • Replenish guest supplies and cleaning materials; report maintenance issues.

NoOverviewMaintain the building to ensure safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, entrances, and other common spaces.Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize surfaces as needed.Clean and maintain public restroom and replenish supplies.Empty trash and recycling receptables and dispose of waste properly.Keep entrances, walkways, and other high-traffic areas clean and free of debris.Monitor public areas and promptly address spills, stains, or other cleanliness and safety concerns.Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, glass, doors, and other public-area surfaces.Replenish guest supplies and cleaning materials as needed.Report maintenance issues, damaged property, safety hazards, or guest concerns to the appropriate department.Follow hotel cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.Respond courteously and professionally to guest requests and inquiries.Perform other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.Qualifications and SkillsHotel experience preferred.Must be able to work weekends and holidays.Self-starting personality with an even disposition.Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.Can communicate well with guests.Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodations.Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
