Job summary

Tandem Hospitality Group in Atlanta is seeking a Public Area Attendant to help maintain the hotel’s public spaces with cleanliness and a welcoming appearance.

You will clean the lobby, meeting spaces, restrooms, and surrounding areas, assist with back-of-house spaces, and greet guests in a friendly, professional manner. Follow safety and entry procedures and report needs to Housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.
• Stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds; reach with arms; bend and stoop as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the lobby, meeting space, public restrooms, and public areas of the hotel.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of surround areas including sidewalks and entrances.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks such as shampooing, window washing, and cleaning light fixtures.
• Clean and maintain back of house areas including break room and laundry room.
• Check and replenish cleaning supplies and tools.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner; respond to requests promptly.
• Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
• Return found items to the Housekeeping department as lost and found.

Job Description

The Public Area Attendant is responsible of maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the public areas of the hotel including the back of house areas.

Job Requirements

• Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, meeting space, public restrooms, and public areas of the hotel.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of the surrounding areas of the hotel, including the sidewalk, brass awning poles, signage, entrance, and alley.
• Deep cleaning of assigned areas of the hotel including the shampooing of rooms and public areas, window washing, hotel light fixtures, and guest elevators.
• Clean and maintain the back of the house area, including the employee break room, the, the hotel laundry room, the compactor area, and the employee restroom.
• Check and replenish your supplies and cleaning tools.
• Greet each guest you see in a friendly and professional manner.
• Quickly respond to guest requests in a timely and friendly matter.
• Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
• Return lost items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of the house to the Housekeeping department as a 'lost and found'.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20-30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the abilities to adjust focus.
