Public Affairs Specialist – Community Outreach
We are looking for a dynamic Public Affairs Specialist to establish and strengthen relationships with regional partners, including Native Nations, community‐based organizations, educational partners, and local governments.
Responsibilities
- Establish and strengthen relationships with regional partners (Native Nations, CBOs, educational partners).
- Develop subject‑matter expertise in career education (K‑12, young adult, community colleges, universities) and expand relationships with community‑based organizations and local governments, including EDDs, member agencies, cities, and veterans’ organizations.
- Organize and hold community workshops, resume/interview skills webinars, and coordinate tours with internal partners.
- Participate in local job fairs and cultural events to increase industry awareness.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to educational, community, and civic groups; assist in coordinating outreach programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus four years of relevant experience, including two years at the Public Affairs Representative I level; or a Master’s degree in a related field plus two years of relevant experience, including two years at the Public Affairs Representative I level.
- Experience in public speaking, presentation skills, excellent communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office, public/community outreach experience, public speaking, outreach events.
- Personable, team player, flexible, multitasking, handles pressure well, detail‑oriented, organized, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid California driver’s license.
