Job summary

The Reno Housing Authority is seeking a Public Affairs Specialist to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate communication strategies, public information campaigns, community engagement initiatives, social media programs, and events that promote Authority services.

The role reports to the Government and Public Affairs Manager and requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of public relations or communications experience, with familiarity using Canva, Microsoft Publisher,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least two years of professional experience in public relations, marketing, community outreach, social media content creation, or communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic communication plans and public information initiatives to support organizational goals and objectives.
• Research, analyze, and recommend communication strategies to enhance public awareness, stakeholder engagement, and community support for Authority programs and services.
• Draft, edit, and distribute news releases, media advisories, public statements, speeches, talking points, and official correspondence.
