Lilly in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an experienced technical leader to join the Process Translation and Execution team as a group leader. You will shape a high‑performing PTE group, drive pipeline delivery across modalities, and mentor scientists in downstream bioprocessing.

This role emphasizes collaboration across Development, Engineering, Quality and Operations, plus regulatory readiness. Initial location is Indianapolis with permanent site in Lebanon; travel is limited.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 12+ years of industry experience in biologics DS development or manufacturing, with 8+ years in purification.
• Deep expertise in downstream unit operations including chromatography, TFF/UFDF, viral inactivation, and viral filtration.
• Experience with column packing, resin lifetime management, and scaling strategies from bench to clinical manufacturing scale.
• Extensive experience in leading, coaching, and developing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a PTE team with expertise in downstream bioprocessing.
• Provide technical oversight for clinical DS purification and conjugation tech transfers.
• Lead deviation investigations and drive CAPA closure.
• Collaborate across functions to accelerate tech transfer and digitize documentation.
• Define the purification technology strategy and support CAPEX alignment.
