Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations under supervision of the pharmacist. You will fill prescriptions, enter patient data, verify accuracy and help manage the workflow within the store pharmacy.

The role requires English fluency, 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, and a willingness to work evenings/weekends. Knowledge of Walgreens processes and patient service is a plus.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in locations under collective bargaining agreement).

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy operations under supervision of pharmacist.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring drugs, verify accuracy and check for interactions.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems; maintain workflow scheduling.
• Handle cash and assist customers at the OTC area when possible.
• Process claims for third-party prescription services and support inventory management.
