Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years experience as a Pharm Tech or completion of NYU Pharmacy Technician training.
• Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology and drug labeling/dispensing procedures.
• Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills and basic Microsoft programs.
• Pharmacy Technician certification and NYS registration as prescribed by NYS Education Department.

Responsibilities

• Performs annual competency assessments.
• Stock inspection and expiration tracking.
• Stores and secures stock and monitors for expired meds.
• Places orders, verifies receipts, and documents in Epic/supplier sites.
• Demonstrates knowledge of state/federal laws on controlled substances.
• Proficient in pharmacy technology and procurement processes.
• Maintains inventory and prepares timely deliveries to units.
• Assists with sterile compounding under supervision.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and maintains work areas.
• Assists in unit-dose drug distribution and patient chart reviews.
• Trains new Pharmacy Technicians per guidelines.
• Answers calls and triages medication order inquiries.
