Job summary

River Edge in Waynesboro, Virginia, is a leading provider of nursing and rehabilitation services, dedicated to compassionate, 24-hour care. The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist to deliver individualized therapy to residents.

Join our resident-centered team to support increased independence and functioning, participate in care planning, and educate patients and families on therapy techniques.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the APTA.
• Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
• Requires good organizational and time management skills.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs according to patient needs.
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Instructs patients, families and caregivers in therapy techniques under supervision.
