Job summary

Paradise Creek of Cascadia is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support a licensed Physical Therapist in resident rehabilitation. You will help patients regain movement, follow treatment plans, and promote safety and independence in daily activities.

Typical duties include assisting with ambulation, documenting progress, and providing patient education while maintaining infection-control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current state PTA licensure.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Helps residents with ambulation (walking, moving out of wheelchairs, etc.).
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting residents/patients in performing physical activities.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; promoting welfare and health maintenance.
• Provides continuity of care implementing patient management plan.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and infection-control policies.
• Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends; monitoring services.
