We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis.This role is ideal for a PTA who enjoys flexible scheduling while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative rehab environment.General PurposeThe Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) assists the Physical Therapist in providing direct patient care, implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and supporting residents in achieving their highest level of functional mobility and independence in accordance with physician orders, state practice acts, and facility policies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTreat patients as directed by the supervising Physical TherapistImplement treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and established goalsDocument daily treatment notes and progress per state and facility requirementsCommunicate patient progress, concerns, and response to treatment with the supervising PT and interdisciplinary teamParticipate in patient care conferences, rehab meetings, and discharge planning as neededAssist with training of Restorative Aides as appropriateEducate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and safety techniquesMaintain clean, organized, and safe treatment areasReport equipment issues promptly to ensure proper functioningMaintain positive, professional relationships with patients, families, and staffSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilitiesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceGraduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programSkilled Nursing Facility or post-acute experience preferredLicensure & CertificationsCurrent, active California Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standingMust meet all continuing education requirements per state regulationsSkillsProficient in electronic documentation systems (PointClickCare and/or Casamba preferred)Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative rehab teamWork EnvironmentSkilled Nursing Facility / Post-Acute RehabilitationGeriatric and short-term rehab populationPRN schedule offering flexibility and work-life balanceWhy Gateway Post Acute?Competitive PRN pay ($40–$45/hr BOE)Supportive leadership and collaborative rehab teamClean, well-equipped facilityFlexible schedulingOpportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient recoveryEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) StatementGateway Post Acute is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
