Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA is seeking a Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient exercise instruction and treatment at entry to intermediate skill level, under supervision of a Physical Therapist. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with varied hours, plus three weekend days per quarter and one holiday per year.

Work with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and ensure safety and compliance with practice acts.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Carries out exercise and treatment programs for assigned patients.
• Assists PT during testing, evaluations and procedures.
• Coordinates PT activities with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and state laws.
• Trains medical and nursing staff in PT techniques.
• Uses safe patient handling during transfers.
• Documents patient records accurately to support medical necessity.
