Job summary

BrightStar Care of Tyler/Longview is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Longview, Texas. This part-time position involves providing individualized home health care to patients in their residences under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities include implementing the plan of care, guiding therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and ensuring safe home environments.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited PTA program.
• Active Texas PTA license.
• Ability to deliver PTA care under supervising PT according to plan of care.
• Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach.
• Good organization, time management, and documented note-taking.

Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy interventions per supervising PT's plan of care.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and mobility.
• Provide gait, balance, and coordination training to reduce fall risk.
• Assist patients with transfers, bed mobility, and navigating home environments.
• Instruct patients on safe use of walkers, canes, and other devices.
• Observe patient progress and report changes to supervising PT.
