Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivering treatments for patients with mobility and musculoskeletal disorders.

The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, CA licensure, and at least 1 year of experience, preferably in outpatient clinics. Travel between sites is occasionally required; a CA driver's license and insurance are necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• 1 year of PTA experience; outpatient clinic preferred.
• California State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current American Heart Association CPR (BLS) or related advanced life support.
• Travel between sites occasionally required; valid CA driver's license with adequate insurance.
• Driving record must be acceptable; CA license within ten days of residency.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and manages own schedule and completes documentation per department standards.
• Evaluates patient progress and suggests adjustments to supervising therapist.
• Motivates patients to regain function and independence through tailored therapies.
• Provides treatments per established care standards and within scope of practice.
• Collaborates with the treatment team and communicates with supervising PT and case managers.
