Job summary

San Diego Post Acute Center seeks a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support patient rehabilitation under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will document daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, assist in maintaining the department, and participate in care conferences.

You will train staff, communicate patient progress with the health team, and ensure compliance with licensure and continuing education requirements, delivering compassionate care in a hospital

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Proficient in Casamba and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers, coworkers and families.
• Must maintain a license in good standing at all times with the state board.
• Continue education requirements per state practices.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board.
• Assist in maintaining department.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
• Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
• Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.
