Job summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Synchrony, located in US-IN Lafayette, provides therapeutic interventions under a Physical Therapist, helping patients through exercises, manual therapy, and modalities. This role requires PTA licensure and CPR as preferred credentials.

You will document progress, communicate with supervising PT, and educate patients and families on home exercise plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in PTA from an accredited program.
• Experience: 0-1 years.
• Current PTA licensure in state; CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
• Observe patient responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
