Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a Skilled Nursing Facility in Petaluma, California. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help patients recover from surgery, illness, or injury and improve mobility and functional independence.

The role involves hands-on care, patient and caregiver education, and collaboration with a supportive team in a geriatric, post-acute setting.

Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Minimum of 6 months PTA experience within the last 5 years is preferred.
• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or geriatric setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and proper mobility techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient progress.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
