Job summary

Napa Valley Care Center in Napa, CA is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team, working with Physical Therapists to help patients improve mobility and independence in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current California PTA license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional performance.
• Assist patients with gait training, transfer training, mobility activities, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress to the Physical Therapist.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety precautions, and mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in care planning meetings and discharge planning as needed.
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and motivating treatment environment.
