Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking a Faculty member for the Physical Therapist Assistant program to educate students on campus, via distance modalities, and in simulation and clinical experiences. The incumbent will bring contemporary expertise in neurological conditions across all ages and will deliver engaging coursework that supports student success and inclusion.

Start date is January 2027. The role trains students to pass the national licensure exam and pursue a dynamic career in mobility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant with active licensure/registration.
• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant with licensure and 3 years non-teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach Physical Therapist Assistant courses to a multicultural student body.
• Participate in curriculum review, program assessment, and governance.
• Evaluate progress and provide timely feedback aligned with outcomes.
• Mentor students in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Ensure inclusive teaching and non-discrimination in all activities.
• Remain current in the field through professional development.
• Support department goals through engagement in planning and committees.
• Attend college-wide and department meetings and activities.
• Perform related tasks as assigned by leadership.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant

Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant with current unencumbered licensure and 3 years non-teaching work experience
