Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking a Faculty member to chair the Occupational Therapy Assistant Department. The role combines teaching, academic leadership, and budget authority to guide curriculum and program outcomes.

The position begins Spring 2027 and emphasizes leadership, accreditation compliance, and student success. The incumbent will supervise faculty, collaborate with college councils, and ensure courses meet THECB, SACSCOC, and program standards while advancing equity and inclusivity

Qualifications

• Hold a master’s degree from a USDE-accredited institution.
• Five years of non-teaching experience in occupational therapy.
• Three years of postsecondary teaching experience in occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for curriculum development and alignment with accrediting bodies.
• Develop and manage departmental budget and instructional supplies.
• Supervise, hire, coach, and evaluate faculty in accordance with college policies.
• Lead department governance, program review, and outcomes assessment.
• Teach occupational therapy courses to a multicultural student population and mentor students and faculty.
