Physical Therapist Assistant at Indiana Fitness Works in Portland, Indiana at Persimmon Ridge.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Display evidence of interest in continuing education within the profession.
• PTA reports directly to immediate supervisory PT.

Typical Physical Demands

• Lift up to 10 lbs overhead occasionally.
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally.
• Lift up to 25 lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally.
• Pivot transfer up to 150 lbs occasionally.
• Carry up to 50 lbs, 200 ft frequently.
• Push/Pull 75 lbs, 100 ft frequently.
• Fine hand manipulation, bilaterally continuously.
• Heavy grasp, bilaterally frequently.
• Visual acuity connection to 20/20.
• Tactile discrimination.
• Stand up to 2 hours frequently.

Typical Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.

Duties

• Conduct treatment plans as established by PT under supervision of PT.
• Communicate with PT, rehab team members and/or referring physician regarding patients treatment program.
• Maintain weekly objective progress notes, following documentation guidelines.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
• Complete daily time logs, modality sheets, Medicare logs, change slips and any other required paperwork.
• Supervise supportive staff in clerical and transporting duties as assigned.
• Must follow all established policies and procedures of the company.
• Communicate the Physical Therapist's designed plan of care to physician. The assistant will also take a telephone order from the physician to certify that plan of care or change the plan of care. The telephone order will then be co‑signed by the supervising therapist.

Must be fully vaccinated against Covid‑19, or have a medical or religious exemption to be employed by Indiana Fitness Works.
