Job summary

Valley Youth House is seeking a YALC Facilitator to coordinate meetings, support youth leaders, and collaborate with community partners across Philadelphia. The role focuses on trauma-informed youth services, governance involvement, and program logistics.

Ideal candidates bring experience with youth development and strong organizational skills, while maintaining safety and clear communication. Some travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with youth and young adults in trauma-informed settings.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development principles and sound judgment.
  • Highly organized with multitasking and logistics skills.
  • Must have no disqualifying criminal or child abuse offenses.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate YALC meetings, input sessions, and leadership opportunities.
  • Support youth leaders with lived experience in advising local governance and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with CoC providers and community partners to coordinate joint initiatives and amplify youth voice.
  • Administer member supports, including stipends, emergency assistance, and transportation coordination.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of youth leaders across Valley Youth House programs.

Essential Functions of theYALC Facilitator
  • Coordinate and facilitate YALC meetings, input sessions, and leadership opportunities, including scheduling spaces, developing agendas, preparing materials, gathering supplies, and tracking action items.
  • Support youth leaders with lived experience in advising, informing, and guiding local governance within the Philadelphia Continuum of Care, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and broader homeless response systems.
  • Collaborate with CoC provider networks, youth-serving organizations, and community partners to coordinate joint initiatives, amplify youth voice, and support system-wide engagement.
  • Administer member supports, including managing participant stipend payments, distributing emergency financial assistance, arranging transportation support, and coordinating travel for leadership opportunities.
  • Lead ongoing recruitment and onboarding of core and drop-in youth leaders across Valley Youth House programs, partner provider sites, and community networks using peer education models.
Minimum Qualifications for theYALC Facilitator
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth and young adults, facilitating group discussions, and delivering trauma-informed services.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development principles and sound judgment.
  • Highly organized with strong abilities to multitask, track action items, and manage program logistics.
  • Must never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, standing, and working on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Light work that includes moving meeting supplies, materials, and objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel across the Southeast region and out of state via train and car for conferences, outreach, and events. About 20% of the role will include traveling to different sites across Philadelphia County.
