Job summary

Northampton Community College is seeking a PT Technician to provide technical support across NCC campuses, primarily based at the Pocono Campus. You will handle desktop, network, AV, and support center services, assisting faculty and students.

The role requires strong customer service, experience with instructional technology, and the ability to troubleshoot Mac and Windows environments. This is a part-time on-site position supporting campus IT operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Instructional Technology with 2+ years experience.
  • Or an Associate’s degree with 3+ years experience.
  • Or relevant, substantial related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary technology support services for Fowler and Main Campus by monitoring phones, emails, and onsite support at Pocono campus.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and tier 2 support escalation.
  • Coordinate desktop, printer, and AV equipment with desktop and network teams.
  • Provide basic event tech support across campuses as needed.
  • Track and manage technology work orders.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

PT Technician, Computer Support Center

This position is to provide technical support for all NCC Campuses but primarily be based out of our Pocono Campus with responsibilities including but not limited to desktop, network, AV, and support center services.

Responsibilities
  • Primary technology support services for Fowler and Main Campus by monitoring phones, emails, and providing onsite support at Pocono campus.
  • Advanced troubleshooting/support escalation/tier 2 service
  • Work with Desktop, Network, and other Support staff to develop, coordinate, and install desktop, printer, and AV equipment
  • Provide basic technical support for events across all campuses as needed
  • Ensure technology work orders are tracked, assigned, and addressed promptly
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Organizational Relationships: The position reports to the Help Desk Manager.

Performance Standards
  • mutually agreed upon objectives have been obtained within a specified time frame
  • responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives
  • effective and cooperative relationships exist with the other members of the information technology services staff, as well as other members of the administrative team, faculty and other members of the College community.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred, Computer Science, or Instructional Technology and two years experience; or Associate’s degree and three years experience; or relevant, substantial related experience
  • Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
    • (a) Knowledge and experience with audiovisual, video-conferencing, and instructional technology systems
    • (b) Experience with instructional technology systems and services in a higher education environment;
    • (c) Experience with maintaining account management systems and services
    • (d) Experience with developing, testing, deploying and testing desktop images
    • (e) Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • (f) Experience with implementing and troubleshooting network and print management systems
    • (g) Experience with Mac and Windows in an advanced troubleshooting environment strongly preferred

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-Campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the College or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years. A paper copy will be provided upon request.
