Job summary

GADSDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT #32 seeks a Student Supervisor to support the instructional process and ensure student safety during non-classroom activities. The role focuses on welfare, incident observation, and communication with staff and visitors.

Bilingual preferred. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, escorting students, monitoring cafeterias and playgrounds, and reporting incidents to site personnel.

The job of Student Supervisor is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities; minimizing the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents; and communicating observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well-being of students, school personnel, and/or visitors. Bilingual preferred. This job reports to Principal

Essential Functions

• Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, teachers, and staff (e.g. process for entering/exiting cafeteria, sit where told, throw away trash, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of such information and the potential consequences of violation.
• Escorts students (e.g. to nurse/office, to/from meals and recess, etc.) for the purpose of providing direction and ensuring their safety.
• Monitors cafeteria and playground areas (e.g. spills, hazards, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
• Monitors student behavior (e.g. to/from cafeteria, recess, and during meals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and secure facility.
• Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel (e.g. rule violations, suspicious visitors, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety

Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card
Salary: $16/Hr
