Job summary

City of Delray Beach is seeking a Recreation Supervisor within the Parks and Recreation Department. The role involves planning, organizing, and supervising a range of recreational activities for diverse age groups, indoors and outdoors.

A valid Florida driver’s license with a clean record is required, along with CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire. The position requires supervisory experience in childcare or recreation, with an AA degree or equivalent experience an

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 2 years of verifiable supervisory experience in childcare, recreation programming or related field.
AA degree and 1 year supervisory experience can substitute the above.
Child Development Accreditation preferred for Out of School positions.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, develop and supervise recreational activities and events.
Supervise a group of participants indoors and outdoors, some with special needs.
Maintain a safe environment and complete injury/incident reports.
Conduct Crisis/Fire drills and emergency preparedness procedures.
Support employee relations and morale on a City-wide basis.
Drive recreation van on field trips as required.
Available for four mandatory special events (e.g., July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, St Patrick's Parade).
