Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks a dedicated BASCC Supervisor to oversee the on-site Before and After School Care program, ensuring safety, enrichment, and adherence to BASCC Quality Standards.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in supervising school-age programs, current First Aid/CPR, and a CDA or equivalent. Commitment to BASCC trainings and effective communication with staff and parents is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience and/or training with school-age children in a group supervision setting.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification and CDA or equivalent required; BASCC qualification preferred.
• Must complete supervisor trainings within specified timelines and earn BASCC approved training yearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with staff and parents.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the on-site Before and After School Care program.
• Ensure safety and enrichment aligned with BASCC Quality Standards.
• Coordinate with BASCC staff and school administration to support participants.
• Support ongoing BASCC trainings and development for staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Education Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training in working with school-age children in a group supervision setting.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification and National or State Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required; specialty in School Age Child Care (preferred).
• Must successfully complete within the first year of employment the Before and After School Child Care Department's Supervisor's Training and within six (6) months BASCC Comprehensive Component I and II.
• Must take at least 10 hours of additional BASCC approved training yearly.
• Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication. Proven ability to work effectively with adult staff and parents.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Or

• An earned Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or training in working with school-age children in a group supervision setting.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Must successfully complete within the first year of employment the Before and After School Child Care Department's Supervisor's Training and within six (6) months BASCC Comprehensive Component I and II.
• Must take at least 10 hours of additional BASCC approved training yearly.
• Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication. Proven ability to work effectively with adult staff and parents.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• At leat 12 hours in Child-care related courses preferred.
• Bilingual skills.
