Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist will evaluate patients and create, implement, and modify treatment plans according to their needs, goals, and physician direction. The therapist will be responsible for the delegation and direction of therapy services, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs for effective community reintegration.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and utilize clinical reasoning to develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Document care clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner in compliance with regulations and clinic policies.
- Ensure all therapy is conducted under valid physician orders and insurance approval.
- Participate in the education of coworkers, students, and patients.
- Engage in personal professional development through continuing education and additional training.
- Maintain an active professional license and meet all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
- Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and provide feedback for service enhancement.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience is required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where the work will be performed.
