Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health in Augusta, GA seeks a Public Health Nurse (RN) to provide maternal/child health services within Richmond County. The role emphasizes vaccines, female/male patient care, and adherence to DPH protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete inventories and medication counts at end of shifts.
• Collaborate to provide holistic care.

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess BSN from accredited University of Nursing CPR/BLS certification


• Worked in clinical setting at least 2 years


• Ability to work within a EMR

Critical Thinking Skills Required

• Ability to learn procedures/protocols quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Women's Health and Children's Health


• Immunization administration
