Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to provide paraprofessional library support and proctor testing as needed. The role requires independent judgment and strong tech skills while assisting students, faculty, and staff with materials and resources.

The position offers 20-28 hours per week with day and evening coverage, and includes several employee benefits such as vision care, EAP services, and retirement contributions. Proctoring and training may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related experience in a computerized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Catalogues and processes materials.
• Update and maintain Library resources and website.
• Conduct library orientations and instruction in-class and virtually.
• Proctor tests in the Testing Center as needed.
• Interact with faculty for tutoring referrals.

Job description

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Assist the Library Director by providing paraprofessional library support, as well as Testing and Certification proctoring coverage as needed. Work requires independent judgment and strong technological skills.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Assists students, faculty, and staff with locating research materials.
• Maintain statistical records and create reports.
• Circulates and maintains library and audio-visual materials and equipment.
• Catalogues and processes materials.
• Maintain and update library resources as needed
• Update and maintain Library website
• Conducts library orientations, and instruction-in class and virtually.
• Creates course and subject LibGuides.
• Schedules, administers, score and/or send for processing, appropriate tests and assessments (VUE, NET, PSB, Compass, Special-Needs Assessments, etc.).
• Successfully pass vendor-specific proctoring tests.
• Proctor exams in the Testing Center as needed
• Interact with faculty for student tutoring referrals
• Follow all college policies and privacy policies related to duties.
• 20-28 hours a week. Position will work days and evenings as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.
