Job Summary

The Chabot - Las Positas Community College District is seeking aPTLibrarianfor Chabot College. Chabot College isseeking a part-time librarian for morning and afternoon in personhours. However, assigned shifts can also include evenings. ChabotLibrarians teach effective research strategies in print and onlineresources through library instructional sessions and referenceservices, serving a diverse student population. Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1.Candidates must have demonstrated instructional skills inthe classroom (e.g., in-person, synchronous, asynchronous) and atthe reference desk (in-person and online) to join our outstandingteam of librarians and classified professionals.
• 2.Demonstrated success in working with students fromhistorically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups,nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and studentswith learning differences in an academic setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's in library science, library and information science OR theequivalent.

Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to thediverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, genderidentity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds ofcommunity college students, as these factors relate to the need forequity-minded practices within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications:

• 1.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communicationskills;
• 2. Experience in providing information/reference services,preferably in an academic setting;
• 3. Knowledge of or experience delivering database instruction insynchronous and asynchronous modalities;
• 4. Enthusiastic approach to working collaboratively with students,faculty, and staff;
• 5. Working knowledge of integrated library systems, ideally ExLibris' Alma and Primo;
• 6. Familiarity with instructional technologies(e.g.,LibGuides, Canvas, Zoom, etc.)
