Job Summary

Applicants must meet the minimum academicrequirements listed in order to be considered for the pool ofqualified candidates. Applicants that meet the minimum requirementsare not automatically accepted to teach at Chabot.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver organized lectures to teachthe topics as listed in the course outline of record which can belocated at http://curricunet.com/chabot/; search under course;


• Evaluate students using formativeassessments such as homework assignments, quizzes and exams;


• Teach in-person lab curriculum tosatisfy the course outline of record in collaboration with the labtechnician and lead faculty for Biology;


• Provide effective and timely feedbackto students;


• Create a welcoming andstudent-centered learning and teaching environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in any biological science ORBachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry,biophysics, or marine science OR the equivalent.

Evidence of understanding of andresponsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnicbackgrounds of community college students, as these factors relateto the need for equity-minded practices within theclassroom.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the community college level or beingthe instructor of record in lower division courses;


• Online, hybrid, andHyFlexteachingexperience;


• Experience working or teaching in a laboratory;


• Experience in maintaining a safe working environment andfollowing all required safety procedures.
