Midland College in Texas is seeking a Lab Instructor-Automotive for the WRTTC to support hands-on student instruction in the lab, maintain a safe and organized environment, and assist faculty and students in developing practical automotive skills.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, related-field certification, strong communication, and a valid Texas driver’s license. Typical hours are M–Th 8:00–5:00, F 8:00–12:00, with possible evening/weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; certificate/experience in classroom, lab, or industry setting.
• Certificate in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience including classroom, lab, or industry exposure.
• Computer literate; clear communication, public speaking, and strong organizational skills.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable under Midland College’s policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain labs, equipment, and materials to support instructional activities.
• Ensure a safe and organized lab environment in compliance with safety standards.
• Assist faculty with demonstrations and provide supervision during lab sessions.
• Guide and support students in developing hands-on skills.
• Monitor equipment, manage supplies, and report maintenance needs.
