Christie Clinic's Fields location seeks a full-time Insurance Specialist for the Physical Therapy department. The role handles obtaining authorizations for PT services and supporting front desk duties from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.

The position involves updating billing alerts, guiding patients and providers on insurance requirements, and staying current with changes in carrier policies and EMR workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain all authorizations for Physical Therapy via online insurance sites and phone calls.
• Update billing alerts and provide final information to PSRs to schedule patients.
• File fax confirmations for insurance authorizations.
• Maintain PT visits within authorization dates and visits provided.
• Correspond on insurances, appeals, and retro authorizations.
• Address patient questions/complaints and escalate when needed.
• Review follow-up questions from patients, billing, and claims.
• Provide insurance guidance to patients and providers, adhering to carrier requirements.
• Attend Continuous Improvement classes for insurance rule changes in EMR and carriers.
• Assist front desk with check-in, scheduling, and phone coverage.
• Perform related duties as required.
