Job summary

University of Pennsylvania seeks PT UACS Garden/Nutrition Educators to support garden and nutrition programming at a local K-12 Philadelphia public school. You will coordinate and deliver hands-on garden education, nutrition activities, and after-school instruction with Penn students.

Primary responsibilities include supervising students, planning enrichment activities, and collaborating with staff to implement University-assisted garden/nutrition curricula appropriate for the audience.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma required; college degree preferred in education, environment, or culinary fields.
• Background checks and federal/state clearances required.
• Experience with urban settings and diverse student populations preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be positive, physically engaged, high energy and fun with youth.
• Engage K-12 students and university students in garden and nutrition activities.
• Coordinate and deliver after-school programming as part of Netter Center UACS.
• Ensure safety and supervise students according to program rules.
