Overview

Coast Community College District (CCCD) includes Coastline, Golden West, and Orange Coast Colleges, enrolling more than 60,000 students each year in over 300 degree and certificate programs. CCCD offers transfer, general education, occupational/technical, and support services with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity.

Performance Responsibilities

Qualifications and Physical Demands
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Must satisfy one of the following: a. Valid California Community College instructor credential issued before July 1, 1990; b. Master’s degree in religious studies, theology, or philosophy; c. Bachelor’s degree in those fields plus a Master’s in humanities; d. Combination of education and experience equivalent to above (equivalency application required).
  2. Evidence of sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage a diverse classroom environment for community college students.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
  2. Expertise and professional experience in the course(s) to be taught.
Conditions of Employment

Part‑time, temporary appointment contingent upon employment history verification, background check, eligibility to work in the U.S., and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Applicants should live within commuting distance to Orange County. Hours and effective date will be arranged with supervisor. Applicants remain in the hiring pool for one year and are considered for assignments as needs arise. Attendance is essential; failure to meet attendance may result in termination.

Salary

Compensation based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
