Aster Springs is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to lead psychiatric evaluations and medication management for clients in our treatment programs. The role includes coordinating with care teams, reviewing medical records for admission, and ordering relevant lab work and UAs.

• Board-eligible or board-certified Nurse Practitioner with VA licensing requirements.
• Experience with PHP/IOP and psychiatric hospital settings is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and staff are essential.

Position SummaryThe position is primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation and collaboration with care teams as needed. The position will provide pharmacological treatment, if indicated, and request and review any needed lab work. Position collaborates with team members, care givers, external medical providers to oversee and promote the health and safety of clients throughout the treatment process.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout Aster Springs and affiliated facilities.Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.Position ResponsibilitiesPT positionMaintaining a safe and secure environmentHelp Clients by providing information, services, and assistancePrescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorderRoutine checkups and Medication checks for clients in servicesConducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimenDocument clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendationsPre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admissionOrder Lab work and UAs as neededComplete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting clientComplete physical for every admitting clientMake referrals to specialist as neededOrder and administer Vivitrol as neededConsult with the treatment teamComplete progress notes as neededSupport Nursing staff.Experience:Board Eligible or Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. All necessary requirements must be met in VA.Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrityA valid Driver's license and a generally clean driving record are required.
