Job summary

Pasadena Villa Outpatient is seeking a part-time/prn Nurse Practitioner to join our Richmond, VA team. The role focuses on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaboration with care teams to support PHP/IOP services.

On-site position with a patient-centered, evidence-based approach. Ideal candidates hold an active ARNP license in North Carolina with at least three years in behavioral health and experience with co-occurring disorders.

• Knowledge of psychotherapy, psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for patients enrolled in PHP/IOP or related programs.
• Provide medication management and pharmacological treatment when indicated.
• Educate patients and families to support treatment engagement.
• Collaborate with care teams, staff and external providers to ensure safety and continuity of care.
• Complete medical records and documentation timely to meet requirements.

The position will provide pharmacological treatment, if indicated, and request and review any needed lab work. Position collaborates with team members, care givers, external medical providers to oversee and promote the health and safety of clients throughout the treatment process.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with staff, clients, families, facility, and peers throughout the organization.Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.PMHNP Essential ResponsibilitiesConducts all Psychiatric Evaluations and ensures medical necessity for all individuals enrolled in the PHP.Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed. Available on-site.Provides consultation, education and related information to patients and the families, if involved, to increase success of treatment and program engagement.Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions.Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements.Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary.PMHNP Experience:Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus.Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity.PMHNP Education:Position requires an active ARNP within the state of North Carolina and a minimum of three years’ experience within a behavioral healthcare setting, experience treating mental health disorders, strongly preferred. Possesses working knowledge of psychotherapy, psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions. Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and ability to individualize treatment approaches to meet each client's needs.
