Job summary

Whispering Pines Senior Living Facility in Michigan is hiring a flexible cook who will also serve as a server. This part-time position offers daytime shifts, no late nights, and the rewarding chance to brighten residents' days by listening, sharing stories, and providing meals with care.

You will assist with meal preparation, serve, and maintain a clean dining area, greet residents warmly, and ensure timely, balanced meals using standardized recipes in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking entire meals in large quantities (20+ meals) is required or preferred.
• Basic computer operations knowledge.
• Positive attitude and ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning the kitchen and dining room.
• Greet residents and guests, creating a welcoming environment.
• Plan menus, prep and prepare meals using standardized recipes.
• Plate and serve meals promptly and attractively.
• Maintain a clean dining area, set/clear tables, sanitize surfaces, replenish supplies.
• Deliver room service trays and transport residents to dining room.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards and facility policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a part time position, no late nights!

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning the kitchen and dining room


• Greet residents and guests warmly, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere


• Menu planning, prep and prepare meals for residents using standardized recipes


• Must have experience cooking entire meals in larger quantities (20+ meals) and serve safe certified preferred, but not required


• Plate and serve meals promptly and efficiently, presenting food in an appealing and appetizing manner


• Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including setting and clearing tables, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing supplies as needed


• Delivering room service trays


• Transporting residents to and from the dining room


• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, following health department regulations and facility policies


• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
