Job summary

Shasta Head Start Child Development’s Oakview Center in Redding, CA is seeking a Cook Aide to support kitchen operations under the supervision of the Head Teacher or Site Supervisor. You will assist the Cook in all aspects of kitchen management per County, CACFP, and Head Start guidelines.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and up to six months of related food service experience; basic math, ability to read and interpret documents, and teamwork are valued, with a focus on safe knife

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Cook Aide with a proven track record of food service experience. Under the direct supervision of the Head Teacher or Site Supervisor, the Cook Aide will assist the Cook in all aspects of kitchen management according to County, CACFP, and Head Start Performance Standards regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assist cook in all areas of food ordering, preparation, serving and clean-up
• Transport food and other items as needed
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment
• Set-up and clean-up of meal time environment
• Perform additional center duties as assigned by supervisor
