Primary Purpose

Provide quality customer service within the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Maintain standards according to the practice manual, maximize sales through excellent customer service, and minimize shrink through proper utilization of standard practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an enthusiastic customer awareness atmosphere, emphasizing fast, friendly, and accurate service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Clean shelves and shelf tag moldings with a damp cloth as needed when stocking.
• Maintain shelf allocations by stocking from tag to tag.
• Ensure only saleable merchandise is on the shelves.
• Handle ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise per policies and guidelines.
• Use company tools such as ACIS and CAO for inventory and ordering.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions.
• Report accidents according to procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform and maintain a neat appearance.
• Complete required training courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Ability to meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Physical Requirements

• Use of computers and communication systems.
